Gastland Österreich Buchmesse Leipzig 2023


The Hauptverband des Österreichischen Buchhandels initiated a competition for the design of a logo and identity for the Gastland Österreich initiative. The visual identity is based on a series of words form the Austrian dialect that translate into “more than just us”. It is meant to convey a sense of openness to what is beyond your own borders, to think outside the box and broaden your horizon. 

The logo is designed to be legible, hint at typewriter aesthetics to make the connection to writers and authors and remain as flexible as possible for a variety of applications. These applications ranged from simple folders and merchandising to a program website, a fair stand that included a 3D sculpture that was made based on my idea as an entry point and eyecatcher.
